I’m new to this kind of stuff, and on this site and vigilantcitizen’s, the explanations for their thoughts often reference something I’ve also never heard about.
Case in point: “The one scene that stood out most to me is the scene where the Joker sits atop a pyramid of money, slides down the peak, and ignites the money.” Did the cinematography make this scene stick out? Or was there a message that I could only understand if I know something else about something?
This is very frustrating because to the newcomer (i.e. me) there are no attempts to explain the reasons why this stood out. It makes me feel like there’s something I have to know to understand why this stood out, and I don’t know what that is. Please, instead of just saying “this is interesting”, explain why. And if in your explanation you can provide links to further explain your point the way vigilantcitizen does, that would make this site a lot better and easier to access than it is now.
I agree with the advice given in the previous comment. I believe the author found this interesting because of Heath Ledger’s death and the wild rumors surrounding it. Also, about his character sitting on top of a pyramid idea… if you know a little about pyramids and the powers-that-be who sits at the top, you’d understand. I also find it interesting, because maybe it’s Heath symbolically saying “fuck Big Brother!” I’m just sayin’….
